Samuel Obinachi Oludi is a seasoned management professional with over 35 years of extensive experience in strategic business development, operations, and training, primarily within Nigeria’s energy and gas sectors. With a foundation in Mechanical Engineering from Rivers State University of Science and Technology and advanced technical certifications from City & Guilds London, he has cultivated a robust career marked by consistent improvements in company performance, operational excellence, and cost-saving initiatives. Samuel is known for his transparent leadership style, emphasis on team development, and a proven track record of exceeding revenue and operational targets.
Throughout his career, Samuel has played pivotal roles in several high-impact projects. These include being a key team member in the tie-in and commissioning of a 128KM gas pipeline to the Unicem Cement Factory in Calabar and leading upgrades at critical gas metering stations in Onne and Afam. His leadership was instrumental in complex technical assignments such as the rehabilitation of metering skids, condensate installations, and executing simultaneous valve replacements under tight shutdown windows—delivering significant operational savings and ensuring uninterrupted gas supply without incident. His contributions to pigging operations in Eastern Nigeria notably enhanced gas quality and resulted in multi-million-dollar cost savings.
Samuel’s expertise also extends to senior management responsibilities, having served as Deputy Manager of Asset Maintenance and as Acting Manager of Operations in both Lagos and Eastern Nigeria for the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company (NGMC). In these roles, he coordinated operations and maintenance activities, ensured the availability of gas supply facilities, and oversaw critical functions like the calibration of custody transfer meters. His leadership in technical committees focused on safety and equipment optimization aligns with NGMC’s Goal Zero Incident target and has ensured high reliability of gas processing infrastructure.
A recipient of several professional accolades—including the Best in Leadership award and a commendation from the MD for exemplary crisis management—Samuel is a certified Senior International Project Manager and an active member of professional bodies such as the Nigerian Gas Association, NSE, and COREN. Beyond his professional pursuits, he enjoys reading, tennis, and watching movies, reflecting a well-rounded personality committed to continuous learning and excellence
