
Ide Owodiong-Idemeko, FCIPM, FPS, PHF holds a BSc in Political Science & Public Administration (1987) and an MSc in Comparative Politics (1991) from the University of Cross River State (now the University of Uyo) and the University of Ibadan, respectively, graduating top of his class in both instances and distinction in thesis. He has pursued further professional development at top institutions such as PeopleSoft University (UK), Insead School of Business (France), and Thunderbird School of Global Management (USA).
With over 36 years of experience in business leadership and management, Ide has established himself as a seasoned expert in Human Resources, Compensation, Benefits and Policy Development, Industrial and Labor Relations, Organizational Effectiveness, Project Management, Security Management, External Corporate Relations, etc.
He spent 22+ years in senior managerial and executive roles at ExxonMobil, working across West Africa, Europe, the Middle East, North America, and South America. While at ExxonMobil, Ide played pivotal roles as Compensation & Benefits Advisor for Europe, Africa & the Middle East, Country Staffing & Development Manager, Permanent Designated Alternate to the Country HR Manager/HR Director for Nigeria and Senior Manager, External Security Interface, executing corporate business strategies and engaging with top government officials and community leaders.
Currently, Ide serves as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (providing oversight for multi-sector investments worth over $100 Million USD), Non-Executive Chairman of Tropicana Mall Development Company Limited, Wodiong Senie Farms, Managing Partner of Wodiong-Senie Konsult, Founder/Adviser, Wodiong Senie Foundation. He is also former Executive Chairman of Planet Eye Solutions Limited and former Chairman of ABAI Contractors Limited.
Ide’s contributions to society have been widely recognized. He is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International, a recipient of the Gold Service Award from the International Association of Lions Clubs, and the first inductee into the University of Uyo’s Alumni Hall of Fame. A respected community leader, Ide holds the traditional titles of Obong Unwana, Ibesikpo-Asutan, Obong Isong and Abai of Ikot Ukop, and Mkpisong Ibibio. He is married to Ekaette, and they have four children.
